The Team at
Red Storm Stable attends all yearling and 2 year old sales
held in New York, Florida, Kentucky and Maryland. The horses
that exhibit the most athleticism and agility will be
further inspected for confirmation and soundness. In
addition to an emphasis on soundness and confirmation we
search for athletic individuals with a good mindset and the
will to win. After tirelessly working the sales we create a
"short list," composed of our top horses in the sale and
give a strict price range for each.
After
purchasing a horse at public auction or privately Red
Storm Stable will evaluate the individual horse before
offering any shares to qualified partners. We believe
it is important for partners to enjoy a close bond with
one another and are therefore selective with partners
which we admit to our team. Red Storm Stable creates a
separate LLC for each horse we syndicate allowing
partners to enjoy favorable tax benefits. Although all
partners are consulted in major management decisions and
have input into the racing career of the horse, Red
Storm Stable remains the managing partner and has final
decision making authority.
The
initial syndication price of a horse will include all
the training and expenses associated with the
Thoroughbred up to and including December 31 st of the
year purchased. In most instances this means partners
will not incur any further training costs until the
first quarter of the next year. However, a cash call
may be issued for unforeseen veterinarian procedures and
traveling expenses of the Thoroughbred.
Thereafter, partners are obligated to pay their portion
of all charges, costs, and expenses incurred in
connection with the Thoroughbred. Company expenses will
be billed quarterly; however, they may be billed monthly
or as needed to pay for required expenses. Please review
our Operating Agreement for more information.
Owning
100% of a Thoroughbred costs about $4,000 a month to
keep in training at a major track in the United States.
The related expenses are the same at all levels but top
quality Thoroughbreds run for much higher purse money.
At the
conclusion of the horses racing career all partnerships will
be dispersed. Female horses will be put in foal to a
commercial stallion and sold as a broodmare at auction. Male
performers, if good enough, will be sold as stallion
prospects. However, if the colt is not good enough to stand
at stud partners should be assured that Red Storm Stable
will find him a good home.
