On racings biggest stage with the world watching, Red Storm Stable trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. took the Breeders Cup by storm.  Richard Dutrow Jr. saddled two winners from this years Breeders Cup program.  He first saddled Silver Train to win the Grade 1 $1,060,000 Breeders Cup Sprint. He later highlighted his amazing day when Saint Liam cinched Horse of the Year honors with a tremendous victory in the $4,291,560 Grade 1 Breeder’s Cup Classic.

October 28, 2005
In making his first start versus stakes competition Congo King raced courageous to finish fourth in the Grade 3 $100,000 Nashua at Belmont Park. The Grade 3 Nashua run at one mile drew a full field of 10.  Under jockey Cornelio Velasquez and breaking from the 1 slot, Congo King was bumped at the start and was outrun early.  The two year old son of Horse Chestnut charged wide into the stretch than had his path altered before finishing well on the outside.  Congo King kept to the task in only his second career start and will now be considered for the Grade 2 $200,000 Remsen run at Aqueduct Race Track on November 26th.

The team at Red Storm Stable wins with another first time starter!  In making her first career start Lake Ferrari, led from gate to wire to win a Maiden Claiming $75,000 contest over a sloppy track at Belmont Park. The harsh rain and bad track conditions didn’t deter this gutsy filly. The second runner from Red Storm Stable’s 2005 roster,  Lake Ferrari a two year old daughter of freshman sire Lake Austin, showed good speed from the inside as she set the pace before drawing clear in the stretch to win by 4 widening lengths stopping the clock in 1:11 3/5.  The speedy filly was syndicated for $27,000 (Purchase Price minus training costs) in early July. The win earned Lake Ferrari $19,800. Leading jockey Edgar Prado was in the saddle for trainer Tom Bush.

September 30, 2005
First out winner and new stable star Congo King breezed five eights this morning at Aqueduct in 1:02 3/5. Originally slated to run in the $300,000 Grade 2 Futurity, Congo King is now being pointed to the $100,000 Grade 3 Nashua to be run on October 28th at Belmont Park going one mile. Two promising colts came out of Congo King’s maiden victory. The runner up Flanders Fields, was an impressive next out winner as he subjugated the competition and broke his maiden by 7 widening lengths going a mile at Belmont. Multiple stakes winner Stream Cat also ran behind Congo King on August 13th. Since the maiden race Stream Cat won an overnight stakes race at Saratoga and then the prestigious $100,000 Grade 3 Kentucky Cup Juvenile at Turfway Park.

The first starter from the class of 2005 is a winner!  Making his first career start, Congo King rallied 4 wide on the far turn to win the Maiden Special Weight race at prestigious Saratoga Race Course.  The two year old son of South African Triple Crown Champion Horse Chestnut, was steadied on the backstretch before settling in, than made a 4 wide move on the far turn and dug in gamely in the stretch for the win.  Under Jockey Norberto Arroyo Jr., Congo King earned $27,000 for his determined effort and paid $16.00 at the window.  Congo King stopped the clock at 1:12 3/5 for six furlongs.

July 23, 2005
Dynamo Hum breezed 6 furlongs this morning in 1:15 flat, in preparation for her next start the $250,000 Statue of Liberty Stakes part of the New York Stallion Series.  The race will be run at one mile at historic Saratoga Race Course on Thursday August 4th.  Regular rider Edgar Prado is scheduled to pilot the 3 year old filly by Precise End.  To date Dynamo Hum has banked over $140,000 providing her owners with a considerable return above her $25,000 purchase price.

June 22, 2005
As the 2005 juvenile sales concluded, Red Storm Stable has made the final additions to the 2005 two year old roster. The new additions include a classy filly by the young exciting freshman sire Lake Austin. The filly breezed 10:3 during the under tack show. This filly is an excellent mover as she travels gracefully over the racetrack. Also added to the roster was a colt by the proven sire, Is It True. This athletic colt dashed through an eight of a mile in 10:2 during the under tack show. He galloped out a quarter mile in a remarkable 21:4. Details and availability will shortly follow on these new exciting opportunities.

May 19, 2005
Despite being bumped out of the starting gate, Bleacher Creature quickly settled down and argued the pace from the outside. Under the guidance of leading jockey Edgar Prado, Bleacher Creature took the lead after three quarters of a mile but couldn’t hold off the winner Initially. Bleacher Creature dug in gamely from the rail in the stretch to finish second in the claiming event at Belmont Park.

April 24, 2005
In her first try versus stakes competition, Dynamo Hum gave it her all with a second place finish in the $150,000 Park Avenue Division of The New York Stallion Series. Breaking widest of them all from the 11 post, the courageous filly broke sharp under top jockey Edgar Prado. After rating behind the early leaders for the first half mile, Dynamo Hum made a 3 wide move on the far turn before taking a short lead at the 1/8 pole. In her first start after a brief 6 week layoff the 3 year old daughter of Precise End tired in the final 1/16 of the race relinquishing the lead back to Pretty Suzi who stopped the clock in 1:36 3/5. It was 7 <= lengths back to third place finisher Ms Litigator. Dynamo Hum earned $30,000 for her second place effort and has now pushed her earnings above $130,000.

April 13, 2005
Drawing post position 1, Bleacher Creature showed good speed from the inside before rallying in the final sixteenth to finish second in the claiming event at Aqueduct. With Jockey Norberto Arroyo up the 3 year old son of Yankee Victor, Bleacher Creature, was sent off as the 9-5 favorite but came up 1 1/4 length short of winner Cold Chicken. Bleacher Creature did turn in his best performance of his career posting a 73 Beyer speed figure.

March 23, 2005
As the OBS March Select Sale of Two-Year-Olds in training concluded today, Red Storm Stable made another addition to the 2005 roster. Red Storm Stable purchased an intelligent colt by Tiger Ridge-Lantana by Copelan. The February foal is a registered New York Bred and is nominated to the Breeder’s Cup, OBS Championship Stakes and the Florida Stallion Series. This athletic colt glides over the race track. He will be conditioned to run on the NY circuit.

March 6, 2005
Making her first start under the care of New York’s leading trainer, Richard Dutrow Jr., Dynamo Hum won her second consecutive race.  The only New York bred in the Allowance NW-1X/Optional $75,000 claimer for three year old fillies, Dynamo Hum gamely out-dueled Missile Bay in deep stretch to record the win.  The meets leading jockey Rafael Bejarano was aboard for the victory.  The win has pushed Dynamo Hum’s earnings over $105,000, and she has now earned more than 4 times her purchase price.  Dynamo Hum is now being pointed for the $150,000 Park Avenue Division of the New York Stallion Series which will be run at a mile on April 24 at Aqueduct.

February 13, 2005
Despite stumbling badly from the gate and almost losing jockey Norberto Arroyo Jr., Dynamo Hum quickly composed herself and hustled to the lead.  Positioned on the rail Dynamo Hum set all the fractions leading throughout the 6 furlong $43,000 allowance contest for Three Year Old New York Bred fillies.  After being in front by 2 ½ lengths at the ½ mile pole the gutsy filly was tested coming for home and responded by digging in gamely and holding on to win by a ½ length.  The $25,000 April 2004 OBS 2 year old in training purchase has now pushed her earnings over $75,000.

DYNAMO HUM
overcame a stumbling start to defeat a field of NW-1X state-bred three-year-old fillies. Owned by the partnership of Red Storm Stable (Anthony Gurino) and Gerard Stuchbury, the bay filly was purchased out of last year's March OBS two-year-old in training sales for $25,000 and has now banked $75,904 in 9-career starts. The three-year-old daughter of Precise End is trained by Frank Laboccetta, Jr. and was ridden to victory by Norberto Arroyo, Jr.
